We are dedicated to providing you with personal one to one computer learning in your own home.

Silver Surfers specialises in teaching people over the age of 55 basic computer skills. We can teach you the skills that you need to help use your computer more effectively. Very popular topics are email, webcams, the internet, photo and video sharing and the basic workings of Microsoft Word and Excel programmes.

One to one tuition is a great way to gain skills. Every session can be tailored to your specific requirements. We find that you are able to learn much quicker in the comfort of your own home and on your own computer. Silver Surfers works with you at your convenience.

We like to think that our tailored tuition enables each person to create new interests and abilities. There is so much you can gain from having computer lessons especially if you are over 55. The benefits of computer training are vast, from physical health improvements to learning new computer techniques and technologies. You can improve your mental state by helping increase stimulation to the mind and create new challenges. There is definitely something of benefit to you when you decide to take up our one-to-one service.

Silver Surfers knows that for one-to-one tuition to work there has to be the basis of a good relatonship between the tutor and the student and a clear objective to what computer skills are going to be required.

This can be outlined in a telephone call before the first meeting. Because people are different and learn in different ways and at different speeds, after the first meeting we can draw up a tailored schedule that is suited to you. We like to build relationships with our students and give them peace of mind knowing that they are going to get a professional, patient and knowledgeable teacher.

Testimonials

" Jon has an extremely friendly and professional manner. He made me feel at ease immediately and showed great patience with me, as I am not the fastest learner. I have made great progress over the last couple of months, but there is so much more to learn and I feel relieved to have found someone who I know can help me along the way. I don't think of Jon so much as a tutor but more like a friend who is always there to help when I need a little guidance."

" When my daughter moved to Australia with her family I was so happy for them, but also very sad to know that I wasn't going to be able to see them so regularly. Well that was until I was recommended the Silver Surfers service. They came to see me and immediately understood what I required. I had a basic computer knowledge but they helped me understand different communication methods that have brought my daughter and her family back to me on a more regular basis. I don't know where I would be without their help I'm so grateful. "
