Somewhere to begin

Everyone's using email and the internet. The Starter Course is designed for those that don't know how to use a computer and want to see what all the fuss is about.
Silver Surfers enables beginners to choose what they would like to learn and when they would like to learn it.

 

FOR EXAMPLE: 
A complete beginner might want to use email, Internet and some photography skills as well as the basic topics

 

• Starting the computer and understanding what's on the screen

• Basic terminology

• Use of keyboard and mouse

• Desktop tools

• Connecting to Internet and finding websites

• Reading, sending, replying to and forwarding emails

• Adding/opening attachments

• Creating basic documents (ie letters, notes) - word processing

• File management (ie how to organise and find work that's stored)

• Tips and hints for speed and effect - keyboard and mouse shortcuts

• Anyone can use a computer - to get started, why not get in touch.

 

Moving on 

Once you are happy that you know the basics we can then look at tailoring further work packages which are more in line with your interests and abilities.
